Welcome

Welcome to The Hamlet Project 2012, this is a blog all about the humorous side of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Hamlet is one of Shakespeare's longest and most famous plays. But it is associated as old, boring and very unfunny, but I'm here to change that. There's lot's about Hamlet that is very funny, you just need to know what to look for and hopefully be able to understand the way they talk. Because let's face it, if ye all spoke in thy manner that they spoke in the modern English days, we most definitely understand all their jokes. But as English evolves all the time, we have trouble figuring out half the things they say because it's one step up from a crazy man's gibberish, which is the reason why I probably failed at my attempt at writing in modern English. Another issue we have with understanding the Humor found in Hamlet is our lack of knowledge of their culture and beliefs. Most of Shakespeare's jokes revolve around the culture and beliefs of the Elizabethan period. But I will try to show and explain the basics of this so that you have
the chance to get a good laugh if you ever watch the play or movie.

I will also show you some contemporary pieces where we find ,or make in many cases, some Humor in this couple hundred year old play. Sure they may not be accurate and they are usually parodies or us making fun of certain aspects of the play, but it's still us finding Humor revolved around William Shakespeare's Hamlet and this is what this blog is all about.

Within this blog you'll find information about the modern and contemporary aspects of Shakespeare's Hamlet, you'll be able to find this within the pages of my blog and you'll hopefully learn a thing or two from me. Enjoy.
